Your question specifically asked how you could check for your PC... but to do it on a mac i think you right click your hard drive and click properties

Just check your system info. Compare the speed shown to what it was before.
right click MY COMPUTER on your desk top and select PROPERTIES

the window that comes up will tell you the type of processor. OOps that would be for PC. dont know MAC
hmmm this would be difficult, i have no experience with MAC OS X, unless you are using XP, Vista, or any form of linux.

I had a major problem trying to find the cache management pane on OS X (assuming it has one). They most likely will have not changed the processor for older processor, that would breach plenty of laws in any developed nation. your processor is probably not overclocking...

It would be better help for more info to be honest. All I can suggest it run by someone you know who won't charge you to check it out, or ring help support for MAC(Im assuming to haven't formatted the OS X) and ask how you get to systems details.

if it XP (Start-%26gt;control panel-%26gt;system) sorry for the poor response
go to this link http://www.olemiss.edu/libarts/techinfo/鈥?/a>

It tells you how to find out you information for mac. The one you need to look out for is the 'processor speed' or 'machine speed' which tells you the speed of the processor running the system. If you have had your processor 'stolen' then I feel really sorry for you because my friend had the same issue, he had an expensive gaming computer which had a virus when he got it back from repair, it was obvious that the repair store ripped out all the good components and replaced them with cheap low quality ones. He couldnt file a complaint because he did not have 'evidence' :(.

Hope I helped and no components have gone missing!
