How do you change a microsoft works word processor to Rich Text Format (RTF)?

To get it in, choose that format below the file name entry box, to show the files.

To put it out, do Save As and change the format to RTF. This will not (I believe), change the original file name, but it may. To edit and save in RTF, do File New to get blank, and then File and pick the name off the list.

I will test this.

Sorry, can't - I was just reminded that Works comes up with %26quot;Can not display required agreement, reinstall program%26quot;

So have to say, I think it works. The works Word word processor used in later versions of Works does it and the native format for WordPad is rtf but WordPad lacks several features included in Works WP and Word WP including code searching.
