you are right about the crysis requirements: Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz (3.2 GHz for Vista), Intel Core 2.0 GHz (2.2 GHz for Vista), AMD Athlon 2800+ (3200+ for Vista) or better. I'm afraid the only way to obtain the nessary cpu power is to upgrade it.

You don't have much luck with brand name computer to overclock CPU. Option is to upgrade your CPU
You cant overclock an OEM,, or At least I wouldn't reccomend doing it to an OEM. You would have to get a motherboard that supports your CPU and more than likely another case.
The 1.73 Core Duo is 1.73 x2 so it has a %26quot;comparable%26quot; processing power of a single core 3.0ghz processor.

If you havn't tried running it already I would just try it.

As for increasing the processor frequency (speed; ie ghz): it is not inherently possible with oem (ie Dell) motherboards with factory firmware. There are programs out there that can modify the motherboard firmware and allow you to do this but since it is so unstable and risky I would not recommend any.

If your into gaming then you should invest in a desktop or a gaming laptop (which are expensive.)
