VGA is a quality mode for a monitor.

You will have to buy a VGA monitor to use the VGA mode.

They were suggesting a video card. You'll need to find out if your motherboard will support AGP video cards, then you'll want to spend $100 on one and toss it in there.
Don't listen to whoever suggested that to you because it makes no sense. VGA is the analog standard used by monitors to connect to video cards in your computer. If you've ever seen the blue cable that goes from your monitor to your computer, that's a VGA cable. (If you have a flat screen LCD monitor, and the cable you use has white ends, then it's probably VGA's digital counterpart -- DVI.)

He MAY have meant you need a new video card, which might be the case. Your computer is pretty low on RAM; I would assume a new game like that needs more to run well. And do you mean you only have 8Mb of hard drive space left? Is that before or after you installed the game? That's pretty low; Windows needs about 200Mb to function properly. I would look up the minimum requirements for your game and see what you'd need to do to match it to your computer.
VGA : Video Graphics Array the graphic standard used by all modern graphics cards

so i think you need another graphics card that have more memory
VGA (Video Graphics Array)is a type of Video connection that goes from a computer to a Monitor/Screen. You probably have that already, but that isn't going to get vice city playing. Your System is below the minimum requirements for this game check it out here. http://www.rockstargames.com/vicecity/pc鈥?/a>

Generally you don't want to have the bare minimum requirements to play a PC game because you wont be able to actually play/enjoy that game instead you'll just be looking at that game freeze and lock up your system. Also a system that old isn't worth putting anymore money into. Instead of trying to upgrade the processor you'd be a lot better off building or buying a whole new system

Good Luck!
Overall you have a fairly old machine, can't upgrade it to anything new really and all your components are bellow spec for the game, should buy a new computer now. that thing is ancient!
I believe that says Onboard,(or integrated), graphics memory is 8MB's. This is not good! Therefore it sounds like someone suggested gettinga graphics,(or video, same, same), card. This will give you more graphics capability. I'll bet your system uses a PCI slot for a added graphics card. Walmart has some that might fit the bill, both for your system requirements for the card, your wallet, and ease of getting one. If you think you can't remember what I'm going to tell you next, write it down, so when you go to buy one, you'll have the information you need at your fingertips.

1.Check the end of the graphics card box. See what the minimum system requirements are. It will be worded just like that, System Requirements. This will tell you what you have to have in your computer to run the graphics card. Processor speed, ram amount, and power supply are your main considerations, plus if it's a AGP style card, or PCI style. I know you don't have a PCI-Express slot, so don't buy a card that's that style. How to know all about what's inside your computer, without opening it up? That's easy! Go to CPUID.com, and download the tiny little program CPU-Z. After you click on the download button, it will come up with a little window, asking do you want to Run, or Save,(or Cancel too!). Click on Run, and don't worry when the thing stops, and says at the top, %26quot;This website does not ya-da, ya-da,...%26quot; Just click on the header at the top, and click on Allow. This site has no spyware, or anything bad! Another window will pop up, click on Run. This will give you loads of info on the hardware inside. Doesn't look at your personal stuff, just the hardware. i suggest an Nvidia card of some sort, around $60-$70 bucks. See this price? Makes you want to upgrade your motherboard/processor/ram, huh? Yeah, like money grows on trees! LOL! You could go to a motherboard/processor combo that uses DDR2 ram, has a PCI-Express x16 slot, PCI-Express x1 slot, two PCI slots, and support for up to 4GB's of DDR2 ram, and up to a Core2 Duo processor with 1066MHz FSB. Comes with a Intel D dual core 3.0GHz processor, for $104.99, and you can buy 2GB's of GSkill DDR2 ram,(533MHz speed), with heat spreaders for $47.00
