Processor running slow respect to his stock speed ?

recently i change my processor to intel pentium dual core e2140 @1.6 ghz .than i installed vista ultimate in it .but when i insatlled and ran cpuid cpu z utility to check the system performance i amazed that it shows my processor speed is less than his stock speed . some details are below which are shown by cpuid cpu z...........................

core voltage 1.152v

core speed 1197.2 mhz

multiplier x6.0

bus speed 199.5 mhz

rated fsb 798.1mhz

microsoft windows vista (6.0) ultimate edition

service pack 2 (build 6002)

my cpu z version is 1.53.1 (december 2009)

now i am happy( because i know i can increase my processor speed) as well as sad(i don't know how to speedup a cpu).

and what we call it if i want to speedup my processor overclocking or exact clocking?

is it normal ? that a processor can run slower than his stock speed or this utility is displaying wrong information?
Processor running slow respect to his stock speed ?
what is happening to your cpu is totally normal for Intel's.....your stock core clock speed is 1.6ghz with a multiplier of 8....multiply that by your 200fsb and you get 1.6ghz...

when the cpu is idle and not under load the multiplier drops to 6, multiply that by 200fsb and you get 1.2ghz........

its designed to operate that way to conserve energy and reduce heat on the cpu...its called (speed step) or another name for it is C1E....there adjustments in the bios.....

so you have nothing to worry about, all is fine and normal......

The Windows Registry is the master control center for your operating system and applications it runs. Corruption or overload registry issues can cause all sorts of pc performance problems, including poor application startup times, slow Windows start-up, extremely slow shut down, slow internet surfing, inability to resume from computer sleep and more.Cleaning, compacting, and optimizing your Windows registry can go a long way to dramatically speeding up your computer鈥檚 performance, start-up and shutdown speed.

this is normal, the speed of a notebook processor will be throttled down when it's idle to save power.

if you want to verify you can download prime95 a benchmark program and just run it and watch the speed go up in cpu-z.
