4. how do i upgrade the BIOS?

5. if i buy a new motherboard, does it come with Bios and processor?

It would be better to upgrade your motherboard, you can get a motherboard/cpu/ram combo from various vendors on the web:

Then just add the appropriate ram and your existing hard disk, dvd burner, in the same case. The bios and motherboard chipset control the hardware that it will see, there may not even be a bios upgrade for your motherboard, especially if it's an OEM system.

Changing out your motherboard is a snap, simply unscrew the old one and insert the new one. I normally remove the power supply first to free up space, then remove any PCI cards and video card if present. The motherboard has approximately 4 to 6 screws holding it down. Your new motherboard will come with a hardware packet containing all the correct screws, standoffs, etc..

The only issue you may have will be with your power supply, most new motherboards come with a 24pin power header, older motherboards have a 20pin or even a 20+4pin power header, so make sure your power supply/motherboard coincide for power.

1)Your mobo (motherboard) is what decides how much ram can be supported. You can got to crucial.com and let it run a free scan on your system it will tell you what kind and how much the mobo will support per slot.

2)Normally you can install any size HDD (hard drive).

3)you have normally a lever that releases, flip the lever then lift it out.

4)You can on some sites/stores order a combo mobo %26amp; processor. But generally they are sold separate.

Hope this helps!
